Tequila pancakes. Too much? Nope. Not at all. They are delicious, fruity and make a wonderful breakfast treat. Make these for the kids this morning and they will be hooked. Trust me.
Crisps are an easy go to for dessert. But don’t let that fool you into their complexity and depth of flavor.
The first time I came across a watermelon tomato salad on a menu I scoffed. “This can’t be any good.” I said to myself, out loud. Well, that was the first time I was wrong that day. I love when people experiment with food and flavors. I loved the watermelon tomato salad so much that it has almost become my favorite summer salad. Greek salad being my all time favorite salad, no matter the season.
During summer Horchata is one of my favorite drinks to keep in my fridge. Always mixing and twisting and trying to come up with new flavors or use it in a different way. One of my favorite Horchata’s I ever made is the Chai Horchata. I used it making brown rice and almonds. It is deeeelish. You wouldn’t think about chai for a summer flavoring but you would be wrong.
Years ago I did a butter poached pear because I was inspired by my pastry hero Michael Laiskonis. I called to ask him if he had seen the post and he hasn’t returned my call. That was 4 years ago. He is a very busy guy so I understand.
It seems as though everyone loves pastry in bars (I don’t mean the dirty dive bars that I hang out in) or pastry in ball form. There’s a couple jokes there, bonus points if you can see the second one. Go ahead and amuse yourself, I’ll wait….
I’m not a huge fan of apple pie but I read an article a while back about making the perfect apple pie. How long has apple pie been around and every year there is an article in a magazine on making the perfect one?
