I made this a while back and paired it with a stout ice cream and pretzels. It was damn good too! Being a dick and thinking I was too cool to put up recipes, I neglected you all and for this I apologize. So here now I am posting the recipe. Why I waited so long is probably unforgivable since it’s probably the best recipe I’ve come across in ages.
In case you haven’t noticed a pattern, I’m a big fan of Dulce de Leche. Just a little. I really like the smooth and creamy texture of Dulce de Leche. I use it as a spread for pretty much everything. On toast in the morning with my coffee, a banana, swirl it in ice cream or just straight off my finger if I need a sweet fix. It’s my house and I’ll do what I want!
Whenever I hear people talking about what they ate as a child I’m always stumped. What didn’t I eat?!?! I shoved food in my mouth by the handfuls. Literally. I was super shy as a kid but not about food. Even if it was something I didn’t like I would eat it again just to remind myself why I hated it. Celery? I hate celery but I’ve never had it here before. Let me give it a whirl. Yup, still don’t like it. I’ll try it again next week in Aunt Dee’s potato salad.
Remember when I made the Duncan Hines vanilla frosting ice cream cake? Well, I had some left over frosting mix and was debating what to do with it. I usually have leftovers because I can’t throw anything away, thanks mom and dad, but it also forces me to be creative, thanks mom and dad. I have worked in so many kitchens that just simply throw product away. Drives me nuts, that’s throwing away money and says you’re not good at managing things. Plus, so many positive and successful things have come from making mistakes and making it work. That’s why my parents have been married for over 40 years and raised three wonderful guys. It’s beautiful!!
