A friend and I had an idea to venture into starting a cookie company. Then we decided it wasn’t really where the money was. You see, we’re not really about doing what makes us happy, we want to be rich and travel. So many people are about the happiness factor and I really don’t understand this thinking. It boggles my mind.
Whenever I hear people talking about what they ate as a child I’m always stumped. What didn’t I eat?!?! I shoved food in my mouth by the handfuls. Literally. I was super shy as a kid but not about food. Even if it was something I didn’t like I would eat it again just to remind myself why I hated it. Celery? I hate celery but I’ve never had it here before. Let me give it a whirl. Yup, still don’t like it. I’ll try it again next week in Aunt Dee’s potato salad.
“Kissing Crust”: In baking, the kissing crust is the pale slightly underdone, portion of a loaf that was in contact with the loaf next to it during baking. -As defined by Larousse Gastronomique
I have been volunteering at The Ali Forney Center for a little over a year and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I have never met a more dedicated passionate bunch of people in my life. It’s one thing to write a check or drop off clothes and another to get involved. Like my good friend Oprah told me “people respond to love”. I totally agree.
