If you are a strawberry lover this is the cheesecake for you!!!
You’re probably asking yourself if I have a love fascination with booze? the answer would be yes. Clearly.
I’ve said in the past and I’ll say it again because I don’t feel like looking for the article. Booze adds such a wonderful flavor to pastries. You use vanilla extract don’t you? You know who also uses vanilla extract? Grandma. Well, everyone uses vanilla extract. Let’s think out of the box once in a while. What’s old can be new again but what’s new can also be used until it’s considered old. That will be written on a wall in a coliseum some day.
Booze in pastries is a wonderful addition. Cocktails and pastries go hand in hand. The only difference is when you go overboard with alcohol and you throw up. You generally can’t stomach that particular alcohol anymore. For example, I got carried away one night with rum. Now, just the thought of drinking rum makes me sick to my stomach. Rum in a pastry? I’m sold! Because I’ve eaten cheesecake until I’ve puked but have never not been able to eat cheesecake again. The brain is such a mystery.
I made this cheesecake because I have a bottle of Tequila Rose sitting on my counter I purchased back in Ohio. You know, because Ohio has all the classy alcohol. So here I have this tasty little tequila that I think is such a treat to add to drinks and I thought it would make an enjoyable addition to a strawberry cheesecake. Not disappointed. At all.
Another wonderful thing that is helpful is that Philadelphia Cream Cheese has a Strawberry Flavored Cream Cheese. Along with Strawberry Yogurt, this cheesecake is loaded with strawberry. I prefer Siggi’s brand of yogurts. Check them out or use your favorite. We all know we have our preferences. No big deal or offense taken.
My goal when making a cheesecake is that it has to be dense but not heavy. Creamy and not fluffy. I’m very particular about my cheesecakes. Needless to say this Strawberry Tequila Cheesecake is right on point.
Since we are on the subject of cheesecake, they opened a new Cheesecake Factory here in Queens and I’m on a mission. Can I tell you a secret? I feel like you readers are my friends so I feel I can talk to you about this. I know once that bitch Rene finds out it won’t be a secret much longer anyway but… I’ve never been to a Cheesecake Factory. I know, I know!!!
I’m letting you know because if you have been I would like your advice. I have a lot of love and respect for you guys so I would like your suggestions on what to order. I mean, I know I”m going to go hog wild on the cheesecakes but what do I order off the regular menu??? I would greatly appreciate any pointers.
Thanks in advance and I truly think you guys are the best!!
